I Jumped Out Of A Plane – What I Learned From Leaping

I am all about taking life by the reins and just going for it! So, when my birthday rolled around this year, I decided that it was time for an adrenaline-filled adventure and I jumped out of a plane!

While I soared through the air, looking at the world below, I started to think about how this experience was a lot like owning your own business.

Sometimes, To Grow, You Have To Let Go

There I was, 10 000 ft in the air and it hit me, I have no control right now. I just had to trust my skydiving instructor and take the leap.

As you grow your company and team, it can be challenging to let go of control and trust others to take over certain responsibilities.

But like I had to trust my instructor, sometimes letting others take control and trusting that they know what they are doing is the best way to grow your business.

I know that it is difficult, but remember – you can be in charge without having to be in control.

You Got To Risk It To Get The Biscuit

No risk, no reward, right?

Prosperous entrepreneurs take risks on a regular basis, and while some may not pay off, each ‘failure’ is an opportunity to grow and learn.

At the same time, this does not mean jumping out of the plane without a parachute. Don’t just take a risk for the sake of it – successful risks are calculated.

The Experts Know What They Are Doing

There is no way that I would have landed safely if it wasn’t for my incredible instructor. When you are flying through the air at 200km/h you have peace of mind, knowing that there is a professional strapped to your back.

Getting SETA Accredited can feel like free-falling through the air. When you have an accreditation specialist on your side (or back) to make sure that you land safely – it doesn’t seem that scary now, does it?
